Thirty seven year old Deratu Tulu of Ethiopia, a mom (like me) of SIX (four adopted and two birthed) and a very fast runner (like myself, well not so fast, but I did come in second place among women in my last 5 k), is the muse for this week's Bellyitch Bump Day.
This November 1, Tulu became the FIRST Ethiopian woman to claim first place in the 2009 New York City Marathon in its 40 year history. And like me, Tulu, was born in Africa!
Since I don't and can't find a photo of her when she was pregnant, I've found the next best thing: A photo (above) of a very dear friend in Blogsphere Yemi of "Don't Eat my Buchela(s)" who I met over three years ago when I started following her blog which chronicles her life with her son, "Buchela".
In her blog, Yemi, features stark, striking, beautiful, vibrant, crisp images and photography of different and unique aspects of living in China. Her commentary on each photo is usually spot on and very thought provoking. She, hubby and "Buchela" have since welcomed a baby girl to the family who fits in well and is fitting in wonderfully.
You would fall in love with the imagery and photography of "Don't Eat My Buchela(s)"
