Yippee!! Finally, the lazy moms who don't have the time, patience, inclination or tenancity to keep up a pregnancy journal are rescued by this great little invention someone sent me information about: The Mommy Measure. According to the creators, an innovative husband and wife team, it is an "all-in-one" belly growth chart and journal that allows moms-to-be to create a timeline of their belly growth and pregnancy milestones"
So the product is simply a tape measure that you use ever so often to measure your girth, but at each point, you can also note what fantabulous thing is going on in your life, the pregnancy e.g., told the news to co-workers, you heard the baby's heartbeat, you felt the first kick, you purchased a glider for the nursery --- fun stuff like that. Or even not so fun stuff like, finally stopped throwing up or you tested positive for Gestational Diabetes, albeit, you've got have the tiny writing skill down and be quick to the point because there's not much room to expand as you can imagine.
I got a neat neutral colored one to test out and the material looks sturdy (similar to a real tape measure) like it could stand the test of time or at least 40 weeks! ha. It comes with a marker and heart stickers to pinpoint the milestone. Yeah, I totally could've been down with one of these measures especially by baby number 3 when I wasn't as quick to make notes on milestones. With this thing, you just have to whip it out, mark the belly and voila! Instant memorandum! Neat! And on the flip side, figuratively, and not literally, you could use the measuring tape to track your baby's first year milestones too. Aaahh. So you don't even have to have a first year baby book either! Just make sure you keep it in a secure place because if you lose the measure, doh! There goes the memories. I jest.
Check out www.mommymeasure.com for more information and to order one if you like. I'm going to give away the one the company sent me to review. I'll put up an entry form tonight for the give-away, but in the meantime, feel free to leave a comment which will count as an entry. Contest will end October 31 to US and Canadian residents only with a real address and not a P.O. Box! Thanks for entering and good luck!
