The model, author, and Emmy-nominated Lakshmi confirmed that she is carrying her first child after years of struggling with endometriosis, a cause for which she has co-founded the Endometriosis Foundation of America, a rep told Us magazine of Padma, 39.
“As a result of her condition, this pregnancy has been referred to by her physician as nothing short of a medical miracle, and due to its delicate nature, we ask/implore the press to respect Ms. Lakshmi’s privacy at this time,” her rep continued.
Endometriosis is a medical condition in which the uterus’ lining grows in other areas of the body, causing pain, irregular bleeding and possible infertility.source

“The recovery was and is more difficult than I imagined, the surgery was terrifying and maybe this is just me, but I think I even caught a 24-hour bout of PTSD. And I’m glad no one really gave me the nuts and bolts of the C, because it would have freaked my sh*t out.”
