my cold weather remedies

now that the weather is turning crisper, I'm hoping to last through the late fall and winter fully moisturized and "ash" free with the help of the following:
For the Feet and ankles:
Burt's Bees Coconut Foot Creme with Vitamin E. Slathering this stuff on after every shower is a sure fire way to soft callous free feet. Its great on dry and rough skin and I love the smell of peppermint and it always makes my feet feel pampered when I'm done.

For the legs and knees:
I'm also trying to at least once weekly dip my feet in the shea butter paraffin foot tub my sister got me for my birthday. Ever so often I give my elbows, hands and knees a dip too. The tub is sold with three 3lb blocks of wax. You melt it in the tub, dip your feet in and let it harden slightly and then peel it off. It helps moisturize and soften dry, cracked, and chapped skin while soothing joints and sore muscles. Shea butter is rich in vitamins A and E and the brand that I use Artemis Woman has lavender infused in the wax which has a wonderful aromatherapy effect. I'm going to look for some mitts and liners too.

For the Hands and Elbows:

I discovered Bigelow Apocatheries' chapped hand cleanser at Bath and Body works. Originally designed for plumbers and other workmen who have to frequently wet their hands, this emollient is great to use after a shower. You rub it on your forearms, hands and elbows and then rinse with water. I think it creates some sort of seal. Not sure, but I'm usually "ash free" for the remainder of the day when I use this stuff. I follow up with the chapped hands lotion that Bath and Body works also sells. Both products aren't 'greasy" The lotion retails for $14.00 and the cleanser is $12.00 for a 6.5 oz jar.

I know it all sounds like a commercial, but I only wish I was getting paid to share my beauty tips. *sigh*
