so just when I thought i was having an Acquarius Girl, I go and get scheduled for my mandatory c-section date and turns out I'm having a Capricorn!

Capricorn babies thrive on routine and order, which gives them the sense of security they need. They are usually even-tempered and self-contained. Capricorns can be strong-willed and will get what they want by slowly wearing down parental resistance. Young Capricorns tend to prefer older company and they enjoy pretending to be grown-up. professional maternity photo session

i'm so excited about getting these done tomorrow by one of my clients who is also a very accomplished photographer.

i was looking for what to wear and checked out other photographers' maternity photos available online.

i wanted to see what type of stuff i should wear and i think i'll be good carrying a white and black camis, a pair of jeans and black yoga pants, and a white and black collared long sleeve shirt. i'm thinking i may be able to get white collared shirts for the boys and get them in on a couple of shots too...oh and maybe my hubby too!!! i'm getting excited! i think this is worth a trip to manicurist too.

i just had an eerie and scary thought...

what's up with all these older celebrities giving birth to boy/girl fraternal twins?

Now InTouch is reporting that an insider is saying that JLO is expecting girl/boy twins.

Desperate Housewives' Marcia Cross, Julia Roberts, Cybil Sheppard all had girl/boy twins as older moms who may have likely opted for fertility intervention options to conceive. Comidienne /Actress recently had boy twins too.

NOT TRYING to be judgmental, I'm just praying that while on fertility treatment, they didn't conceive multiples and decided to terminate (read: kill) the rest except one boy and one girl or just two.

I've heard of celebs do all sorts of whacky unethical and unsafe things for the sake of vanity;

induce at 8 months to avoid stretch marks....get tummy tucks on the same operating table as their c-sections....opt against breasfeeding so their boobs won't droop despite the benefits to their newborn...

But this, for me, if it were to be happening would be sickening.

So what's new?

counting kicks: now that lil bean is growing and running out of room, gotta keep track of her movement as these last few weeks as babies start to double in size, many babies start to get tangled in their own umbilical cords and get theirselves in all sorts of trouble.

It doesn't help that my nurse sister who works in the OB/GYN phone triage accidentally shared with me a couple of disaster stories.
UM....WHAT ELSE?

I've started to Nest. On the list:

GET HOUSEHOLD AND WORK FILES IN ORDER

1. SORT the 10+lbs of paper from old files (to be shredded, to be filed, to be trashed)

2. CLEAR out the archaic files in the office and pack away files that are rarely used.

3. FILE the to be filed stuff away

4. SORT expenditures and invoices and hand over to accountant to do profit/loss statements and end of the year filings

GET READY FOR BABY

1. REGISTER for baby shower

2. BUY girly elements to neutralize the boys' old room
(get pretty drawer pulls, feminine looking blankets for the crib & wall hangings)

3. Wash clothes and infant plush toys in Dreft

4. Lease larger SUV or minivan. We're seriously leaning towards the Honda Pilot which seats 7

5. Arrange finances so can take at least 8 weeks away from office without having to do too much strenuous client work.

THIS reminds me to call my doctor to schedule my elective C-section (I must have b/c no insurance company will allow a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) for a person who has had TWO PREVIOUS C-sections. The medical risks are too high! *sigh*

'Tsalright with me...those 18 and 20 hour labors that ended in emergency C-sections were enough for me NOT TO ARGUE!! who wants to go through that a 3rd time? NOT I!

Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

what's in a name

so I'm thinking this week will be a good time to start thinking of a couple of back up names. We have settled on one now that is (1) biblical; (2) fits in with the boys' name; (3) makes a good initial...BUT...i'm not ure I'm liking it anymore and something is telling me she will not look like that name.

with our second child, we sent out announcements via email once he was born announcing his name and everything! Then...when the woman was down the hall on our way to my room to order his photos, I panicked! He didn't "look" like that name. CAlled hubby on the phone who was getting me a sandwhich down the street, but on his way to the hospital.

We had a quick convo trying to decide between our two back-up names AND its spelling. Needless to say, we picked a name and unfortunately a spelling that can easily be misprounced as there are two pronunciations of the name; one of which I ABSOLUTELY HATE!!!

ANYWAY...Back to the baby name drawing boards for us!

Christina Aguilera finally confirmed her pregnancy! Whoa, she waited until she was in her THIRD TRIMESTER!! wow!
And Italian designer Roberto Cavalli "outed" J-Lo too recently. Who says you can trust your bgf Designer to keep a secret!?! :DUPDATE!!! Apparently, they outed themselves at a recent concert. I wonder if Cavalli had any thing to do with it. J.-Lo announced, "Marc and I are expecting. After her announcement, Marc kissed Jennifer's belly and said, "I didn't know she was going to talk." JLo joked to the crowd for the rest of the concert after her announcement. "You don't mind if I catch my breath for a minute?"

and i notice that many older women comment and are surprised y my energy levels

my mom and mom-in-law can't get over the belly hugging stuff i wear even tho they see it is more fashionable in these days to accentuate the belly. they shake their heads and tell me, "in our days, we didn't wear things to show off our round tummies."

i think the opinion of older women are if you are pregnant, you should be holed up on a bed, eating bon bons getting fat, waddling around in a big moo moo or overalls with messy hair and not out and about looking fabulous...

..or something like that.

The Layette

We already have dozens of white and generic colored onsies and nighties from the boys. Thank God for my mother-in-law who spent a couple of days washing and folding an entire storage bin of these. Nonetheless, we wanted to add some girly stuff for Ms. newcomer, I headed out to Macy's yesterday, armed with a $50.00 gift card I got from a friend as a thank you for guest lecturing in her class, a $25.00 off gift coupon, a $10.00 rewards gift card and the hubby's Macy's credit card....

....I got all of the following for $75.00 net after factoring all my gift cards and coupons!!!A cute pink bunting; a two 6-pack of socks; a sleeper blanket; a pair of opaque tights; a sweater; a polka dot fleece outfit; and three layette sets that came with 2 fleece cardigans, a blanket, three bibs, two short sleeve shirts, three longsleeve onsies, 6 pair of pants, a nightie, two caps, two pair of socks!!!! I got newborn, 0-3months and 6-12 month size just in case girly is big or is a fast grower. I learned a lesson from gathering too many teeny tiny clothes that the boys quickly outgrew.These three are my favorite pieces: This cute cardigan, this bunting and the polka dot outfit. I SWORE UP AND DOWN that if I ever had a lil girl, I would not outfit her in Pink.

pregnancy work out

after the traumatic news about my weight...i decided to add aerobic videos to my sporadic treadmill and steps routine I do in the basement....this morning, my kid was prolly like what the heck is all this bouncing about??!!!???

I got this for my 2nd pregnancy, but for the first I got the Redbook video which I did it this morning before walking 30 minutes on the treadmill while catching up on a Digital Video Recording of Monday's Heroes episode

28 Week OB Visit

i am going to not say a thing about this 9lb weight gain from last visit! Augh!

on the good news all is going well...

i got a clearance to get a preganancy massage...woo hoo. i can't wait and my back has been killing me and my sciatic nerve pain is back!! eeeek!

i got a flu shot and they drew my blood after taking the glucose test.

i'm crossing my fingers that it isn't positive like with my first child...tho, i do recall not gaining any excess weight after being put on a gestational diabetes diet...hmmmmm....
