Flipping through the baby book recently and we're thinking we will DEFINITELY NOT be going with any of those fashionable cute names of late.
Apparently, these are the "it" names among middle to upper income black women in my part of the world b/c I'm hearing these names at showers, on the playground, in the supermarket, tho a few are still sticking with the traditional names, doing the name combination thing or going with historic or family names. MY no no list of really cute girl names:
KENNEDY
MADISON
MORGAN
BRIANNA
JORDAN
PAYTON
BAILEY
HAILEY
MONTANA
REGAN
JORDAN
BRANDI
RILEY
TAYLOR
CHEYENNE
MACKENZIE
LOGAN
no offense to anyone who's kid has those names, they all sound very cute and posh. Just a personal preference but I think I'm going to go for a biblical old school name (like we did with the boys)
The challenge now is to find a girl name in the bible that is not as ugly as Baal-Berizh, Bashemeh or Uphaz. HAHAHAHA!

LOL, those names are also very (no offence to any readers) "White." Which didn't exactly stop me from naming my girls Cameron and Lindsay (which are luckily not on your list ;-)
yup. I read this article the other day that said a crop of African American parents are purposefully giving their children names Anglos normally give their children in hopes partly b/c they want their kids names to not cause them to NOT get job interviews. The thinking is an employer seeing a name like "Jamal" or "Keisha" would automatically know the candidate is black and if s/he want may decide NOT to interview b/c of that.
Isn't that interesting?
okay, that double negative in the middle of my comment was all off, but you get my point.
Lol why is my niece Madison Cheyenne!!! We know at least one if not multiples of each and every name on that list (and at least 1 is black for the vast majority of those names). I like strong unisex sort of names for girls like most of these so I can see the reason for their popularity.
